    TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan deported 70 Filipinos overstayers aboard a chartered plane on Saturday to avoid the huge expense of individual enforced repatriations, sources close to the matter said. The Filipinos, who had been held at detention facilities run by the Justice Ministry's Immigration Bureau for being in Japan illegally, were flown to Manila, the sources said. According to the Immigration Bureau, Japan previously issued written deportation orders for illegal immigrants to return home at their own expense by air or sea.     TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan's Supreme Court rejected Friday appeals by a man sentenced to death for murdering a Filipino woman in 2008 and to 14 years in prison for the murder of another Filipino woman in 1999. The top court's decision will finalize the death sentence as well as the prison term given separately to Hiroshi Nozaki, 53, by the Tokyo High Court on Oct. 8, 2010.
